History of Four States Mustang Corral

The first meeting of the Four States Mustang Corral was held on November 11th 1993. Items on the agenda were election of officers, annual dues, formation of committees for development of club By Laws, logos apparel designs and a name for the club. The club has averaged 30 member families. Each member family owns 1 to 3 Mustangs.

The Four States Mustang Corral held its first car show at the Texarkana Quadrangle Festival of September 1994. At this same time clubs first monthly news letter was published and named “The Pony Tales”.

The Four States Mustang Corral received its first exclusive sponsor “McLarty Ford of Texarkana” in time for the 1999 annual show. McLarty Ford continues to be our sponsor to this day.

In 2008 The Four States Mustang Club was chartered as a Regional Club by the Mustang Club of America. On 30 May 2009 we will hold our first Regional Mustang Show at the Central Mall, Texarkana TX.

Because of our geographical location our annual show draws cars from Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. The 2008 car show was our first open show. It set a record 104 cars and allowed us to donate a record $2700.00 to local charities.

Each year the club donates profits from our annual show to local charities selected by the club membership. The remaining funds are used to pay for our annual cookout and the cost of awards, advertisement and prizes for the next years car show.
